The Importance of Search Engine Optimization in Internet Marketing
SEO is undoubtedly a core component in search engine marketing and shouldn’t be overlooked. The most basic definition of Search Engine Optimization is simply the act of enhancing the content on your website to reflect your company’s expertise and relevancy to a user’s particular search term. You have to illustrate that your website is important, because search engines rank highest those websites it feels are most relevant.
Search engines know which websites are most relevant for a user’s search by the number of times that a particular keyword(s) shows up in text on your web page, and by the variety of ways it appears on your page. In addition, search engines also take into consideration the number of web pages with outgoing and incoming links that contain the keyword phrase the user is searching for.
It is beyond critical to have multiple article and blog pages that are related to your website’s topic. Use your keyword pyramid as a guide and assign a different keyword search term for each article or blog. I find it easiest to first write the content then look back through it for opportunities to incorporate your chosen keyword. Place your keyword at the beginning of the content for maximum relevancy and do not overindulge.
Hidden text is usually keyword(s) in the same color as the background to “hide” it from the eyes of users but not from the search engines. If a search engine detects text in the same color as the background, it will most likely penalize you and even go as far as banning your site.
Search engines are very fond of imaginative content made for actual Homo sapiens and not digital algorithms. They want the Real McCoy; real informative content for real human visitors. This means that every single page of your website must contain original written content, unique and relevant to that page’s topic.
